Shown above are two HRSG arrangements. Both generate the same amount of HP steam,while the LP steam generation is different. Option1 has the LP stage followed by the HP stage,while option 2 has a common economizer which feeds the two stages,thus increasing its heat sink potential. Thus we are able to lower the stack gas temperature and recover more energy from the exhaust gases.More LP steam is generated in option 2. The results are from HRSGS program.
